Barbara Busey started designing and conducting professional development training workshops in 1990. In 1994 she formed her own training business, Presentation Dynamics, where she specializes in the dynamics of how people present themselves.

Her offerings include:

Barbara has her Master’s degree in Speech Communication from Georgia State University and a Bachelor’s degree (cum laude) in Journalism from the University of Georgia.

She has over 25 years business communication experience, including:

  • an entrepreneur with her own training firm
  • a communication consultant and trainer for a small business
  • a college instructor in speech communication and journalism
  • a corporate employee in advertising, marketing, and public relations

2009 Hoffer Award WinnerHer skills in written and verbal communication have won her awards from organizations such as the International Association of Business Communicators, the American Advertising Federation, the Public Relations Society of America, and Women in Communications, Inc.

She speaks and writes often on communication-related topics. She has been interviewed on several radio talk shows and has been regularly published in La Noticia (the Spanish Language Newspaper), Civil Engineering News, The Charlotte Observer, NC Adjuster’s Report, and Charlotte Chamber Ventures magazine. For over six years, she had a column on “People Skills” that ran in The Charlotte Business Journal. Her first book, Stand Out When You Stand Up—An A to Z Guide to Powerful Presentations, came out in 2005 and won First Runner-Up in the Business Category of the Eric Hoffer Book Awards. She has also produced an audio CD, The Compelling Speaker Program, and a DVD, How to be a More Dynamic S.P.E.A.K.E.R.

Barbara first created the Compelling Speaker workshop in 1995. Fine-tuned after all these years, it is a powerful, results-oriented training program. She is now reaching out to be a guide and resource to those who would like to enjoy the benefits of conducting this training for others. The Compelling Speaker Certification program leverages her knowledge and expertise to certify other trainers in The Compelling Speaker Program.

Andrea Williams is an adjunct facilitator of the Compelling Speaker Certification. She will join us for Day Three to provide a conceptual framework and an immediately actionable plan to kick-start your Compelling Speaker marketing efforts… before you even leave for home.

Andrea has a 25-year career as a writer/editor/coach planning, designing and producing publications, products, and programs. As a Book Yourself Solid® Certified Coach, Certified MasterMind Executive Coach™ and a Kolbe® Index Certified Consultant, she helps clients identify strengths and focus passions in order to create simple, success systems. She believes that marketing can be a fun and easy extension of what you already do as an expert in your field.

She splits her professional efforts between customized marketing coaching and directing Fresh Start Creative with her partner/husband Roger, an artist and graphic designer. They provide strategic planning and product development for start-ups and established firms looking for a new approach. They offer copywriting, graphic design, illustration, website design and coaching, and total project management. Their specialty is creating an online presence and complete marketing strategy for small and new businesses using a fully-optimized WordPress website platform.
